Employee Benefits

Health Insurance

Health Insurance is available to full-time employees and part-time employees requisitioned 40 hours per pay period (.5 FTE or above). *MEC available for prn employees. Employees are eligible within 30 days of continuous employment, within 30 days of a qualifying event or during annual open enrollment. The benefit includes:

  • Co-pays: $20 Virtual Visits, $35 for primary physician, $75 for specialist, $85 for Urgent Care visit, $300 for ER visit
  • Deductibles: $2,000 for employee only, $3,000 for two covered members, $4,000 for three or more covered members (in network/participating)
  • Member Responsibility (PPO): 20% in-network, 35% participating network, 50% out-of-network
  • Member Responsibility (EPO): 20% in-network, 35% participating network, out-of-network not covered (emergency and urgent care only while traveling will be covered at 35% member responsibility)
  • Annual Healthcare Reimbursem*nt Account (HRA): Up to $1000 credit for wellness participants
  • MEC is a wellness only/ preventative coverage plan for PRN employees only.

Dental

A Dental Plan Insurance is available to full-time employees, and part-time employees requisitioned 40 hours per pay period (.5 FTE or above). Employees are eligible within 30 days of continuous employment, within 30 days of a qualifying event or during annual open enrollment.

Benefits include:

  • Co-insurance/$50 deductible per calendar year and a $500, $1,000 or $1,500 maximum yearly allowance.*
  • The effective date is the first of the month following qualified enrollment or first day of plan year following open enrollment.

Vision

Vision Insurance is available to fill-time employees and part-time employees requisitioned 40 hours per pay period (.5 FTE or above). Employees are eligible within 30 days of continuous employment, within 30 days of a qualifying event or during annual open enrollment.

Benefits include:

  • Two carrier options (Superior Vision or VSP)
  • A co-pay for an eye examination every 12 months, a co-pay for lenses every 12 months and frames every 24 months
  • The effective date is the first of the month following qualified enrollment or first day of plan year following open enrollment.

Flexible Spending

A Flexible Spending Tax Savings Plan is available to full-time employees and part-time employees requisitioned 40 hours per pay period (.5 FTE or above). Employees are eligible within 30 days of continuous employment, within 30 days of a qualifying event or during annual open enrollment. Flexible spending has two separate plan options:

  • Medical plan option: The benefit includes Medical flexible spending where pre-tax dollars set aside through payroll deductions to pay for eligible health expenses as a means of reducing taxable income.
  • Dependent daycare plan option: The benefit includes dependent day care flexible spending where pre-tax dollars set aside through payroll deductions to pay for eligible day care expenses as a means of reducing taxable income.

Accident Insurance

Supplemental Accident Insurance is available for full-time or part-time (.5 FTE or above) employees. This benefit helps pay for out-of-pocket expenses that result from off-the-job injuries and accidents. Can be enrolled any time but takes effect the first of the month following the month after enrollment.

Critical Illness

Supplemental Critical Illness benefit available for full-time or part-time (.5 FTE or above) employees. May only be enrolled within 30 days of the new hire period, within 30 days of a qualified life event or at annual open enrollment. The Critical Illness benefit is a lump-sum payout depending upon the diagnosis of certain critical illnesses, which meet the coverage criterion.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance

ADD Insurance is available to full-time employees on the first day of the month following three months of continuous employment. The benefit includes term insurance for accidental death and dismemberment.*

Life Insurance

Basic Group Term Life Insurance is available to full-time employees on the first day of the month following a one-year anniversary. The benefit includes 200 percent of annual income provided by CoxHealth.*

Supplemental Group Term Life Insurance is available to full-time employees on the first day of the month following a one-year anniversary. The benefit includes up to 300 percent of annual income maximum.*Premiums vary depending on amount of coverage selected.*

Voluntary Interest Sensitive Whole Life Insurance is available to full-time and part-time employees (.5 FTE and above, excluding PRN and per diem) after 30 days of continuous employment. Premiums vary depending on coverage selected and are payroll deducted.

*Subject to underwriting guidelines and provisions of the master contract. Up to $300,000 maximum.

Disability

Short-Term Disability is available to full-time or part-time (.5 FTE or above) employees after 30 days of continuous employment. Plan has guaranteed issue for newly eligible participants. Applications after guaranteed issue period are subject to underwriting and plan provision. Premiums vary depending on age and amount of coverage. The benefit includes 60% of base salary up to a maximum of $1400 a week. Subject to medical necessity, pre-existing limitation, and plan provisions. *

Long-Term Disability is available to full-time employees on the first day of the month following a one-year anniversary. The benefit includes 60% of base salary to a maximum of $10,000 monthly benefits.*

Retirement

A consistent savings plan throughout your career is the foundation for security during your retirement years. The CoxHealth Savings Incentive Program (SIP) 403(b) is available to all employees working a minimum of 1,000 hours per year upon hire and is designed to help you reach your retirement goals. The plan offers tax advantages as well as one of the most generous matching contributions among area employers. This is an excellent way to build up a solid retirement fund through your working years.

Time Off

Earned Time Off (ETO) is available to full-time and part-time employees at .5 status or greater. ETO is used any time an employee is off work during his/her scheduled work hours unless the employee qualifies for Accumulated Disability Benefit, Funeral Leave or Jury Duty. ETO will be awarded each pay period based on the prior pay period hours paid, excluding weekend option bonus hours. An employee may accrue up to two times his/her potential annual ETO amount.

Accumulated Disability Benefit (ADB)

Accumulated Disability Benefit (ADB) is an employer-paid short term disability benefit for full-time and part-time employees requisitioned for at least 20 hours per week, and is available following the use of 32 ETO hours. Eligible employees can accrue .0346 hours for each hour worked per prior pay period up to 80 worked hours, which can accumulate to 72 ADB hours (9 days) per year, with a maximum of 480 ADB hours per employee or the equivalent of 12 weeks of paid leave.

Parental Leave

Maternity, paternity and adoption leave is available for full-time and benefit-eligible part-time employees who have been with CoxHealth for three months. This benefit provides two continuous weeks paid time (based on a 40-hour work week, with a max of 80 hours). The employee must take this leave within 30 days of the date of the birth (*Birthing mother’s time is applied to the first 2 weeks of maternity leave).

Jury Duty

Jury Duty is available to all employees upon hire. Employees called to server as jurors may be absent with pay during their scheduled work hours.

Bereavement Leave

Bereavement Leave is available to full-time and part-time employees upon hire. The benefit includes up to 3 days paid leave from date of death to funeral for qualifying family members. Up to 4 days if greater than 250 miles.

Adoption Assistance

Adoption Assistance is available to all employees three months after hire. Employees may take up to a maximum of 6 weeks accrued ADB time.

Cafeteria Discount

A Cafeteria Discount is available to employees who participate in the Wellness Program. Discount is provided with approved ID that has a current Healthy Living sticker.

Check Cashing

Check Cashing is available to all employees upon hire. Employees may cash $10 check in cafeteria with purchase and appropriate ID.

Child Care Center

Our Child Care Centers are available to all employees upon hire. Child care is available in Springfield and Branson; rates are available upon request and are payroll deductible.Child care openings are based on availability.

Employee Health

Access to Employee Health is available to all employees upon hire. The benefit includes TB tests, flu shots and Hepatitis B vaccinations.

Pharmacy

Available to all employees upon hire. The benefit includes discounted prescriptions at CoxHealth Pharmacies for employees and dependent family members, if purchased without use of prescription card provided by a health plan. Learn more about locations and other pharmacy information.

Educational Assistance

Educational Assistance programs foster a highly specialized workforce, create opportunities for career advancement at CoxHealth and increase employee engagement by enhancing benefit options. Participation is available to all existing, benefits-eligible employees who meet both general and specific eligibility requirements in exchange for a specified work commitment in designated position.

  • Tuition Reimbursem*nt is eligible for full-time employees for $1,200 per calendar year, upon hire. Part-time employees requisitioned 40 hours per pay period are eligible for $600 per calendar year, upon hire.
  • Student Loan Repayment program is offered to selected acute care, beside nursing positions and allied health employees who work in our hardest-to-fill positions. Up to $10,000 ($20,000 for BSN nurses) is available in exchange for a signed work commitment.
  • Tuition Assistance programs offer direct payment of tuition and fees to an accredited school or university on behalf of student employees. They also include on-the-job paid Apprenticeship positions. Tuition Assistance programs support development of health care professionals such as medical assistants, nurses, EMTs and paramedics, pharmacy techs, phlebotomy and lab techs, radiologists and CTs, respiratory techs and surgical techs.

Our premiere Tuition Assistance program is the RN to BSN program, which partners with Cox College and offers a loan free, tax free pathway for nurses to complete their BSN degree. Up to $12,500 is available for the core program, and additional funds can help offset costs of pre-requisite coursework. Read more about this new program on our Nursing Perks page.

Multipli Credit Union

Multipli Credit Union is available to all employees upon hire at Cox South. The credit union offers payroll deduction for savings accounts, auto and personal loans and direct deposit, and is located on-site.

Continuing Education

Continuing education is available to all employees upon hire. CoxHealth Education Center provides courses and credits for various job classifications. Learn more about our continuing education options.

Direct Deposit

Direct Deposit is available to all employees upon hire. Wages can be directly deposited into your checking account or credit union.

Employee Service Awards

We offer Employee Service Awards. This benefit is available to all employees every five years of service. Includes a dinner with awards presentation.

Other Benefits

Other benefits include free parking, shift premiums, choice rewards program; Recreation Council activities including an annual employee picnic, employee appreciation meal and more.
